(1) "Pick and place robot arm" that transmits force and tactile sensation and images without delay

Taisei Corporation has been working on the development of a force-tactile transmission type remote control system for some time. This time, the latest upgraded version is on display at "5G X LAB OSAKA".

The key to the workability of the remote-controlled robot arm is the sense of force and touch (the feeling when touching an object). The "Pick and Place Robot Arm" makes use of the low latency and large-capacity communication unique to 5G to realistically reproduce the force and tactile sensation when an arm operated from a remote location grabs an object.
In addition, since high-quality images of the tip of the robot arm taken from multiple angles can be confirmed in real time at a remote location, it is possible to operate with a sense of security and realism as if working in the field. The remote-controlled robot arm is difficult to use even with a slight delay, and can sometimes lead to a major accident. Communicating force, tactile sensation and video in real time without delay is essential for remote control.
If introduced, it will be useful for improving factory productivity, building automated work lines, and remote recovery work at disaster sites.

(2) "mix pace" that visualizes 3D CAD data and operates it intuitively

By importing detailed data such as 3D CAD and BIM optimized for AR / MR * into the device and experiencing it with "HoloLens2", it can be used for consensus building and problem discovery.

* MR: Abbreviation for Mixed Reality, a technology that fuses the virtual world with the real world.
When "HoloLens 2" is installed, detailed data of the building displayed in AR appears as if it exists in front of you. Not only can you operate it with your fingertips to enlarge and rotate it, but you can also look inside the full-scale building and move parts such as stairs and pillars. You can also see a cross-sectional view of the angle you want to see by slicing the building.

Since the AR data viewed on "HoloLens 2" can be viewed by multiple people, it should be useful for improving work efficiency such as construction verification and construction support.

③ "Voysys" where you can experience remote driving with a radio-controlled car

"Voysys" is a demonstration of remote control while watching the field of view from a radio-controlled car equipped with a 180-degree camera in VR video. When you wear VR goggles and sit in the operation seat, the world seen from the radio-controlled car spreads in front of you, and when you step on the pedal, you can remotely control the radio-controlled car along the course drawn on the floor in "5G X LAB OSAKA". You can run it. It is a mechanism that delivers the radio-controlled car image to the monitor with low delay by 5G and also sends the pedal operation information to the radio-controlled model.
Such remote control systems are expected to be used for remote control of cranes in mines and ports, and remote monitoring of factories and power plants. In addition, by using 5G and a remote control system, it will be utilized in the future to enlighten the roads necessary for relief and restoration in the event of a disaster.

④ Map "Mapbox" that maps digital data in real time

In the 5G era, the number of mobility and terminals connected to networks will increase, and an interface that can check them in real time is required. Mapbox, a digital map platform, makes this possible. Various data owned or required by companies such as weather data, traffic volume and driving route data, trade area data, sales data, etc. are reflected on the map in real time according to needs, and those data are visualized on the map. This makes it possible to accelerate data-driven businesses.
The demonstration also introduces an example of using the system "Vision SDK" under development. "Vision SDK" is a software development kit that can implement navigation functions such as route guidance and alerts while driving in mobile apps.

When you start the smartphone app equipped with "Vision SDK" and take a picture of driving, the median strip, lane, sidewalk, etc. are displayed in different colors, and you can grasp the surrounding environment of the running car in real time. You can see that.
If a mobile device equipped with an application developed with the Vision SDK is attached to a car, it will be possible to recognize the surroundings from the images collected by the camera and issue detailed driving instructions using AR.

⑤ "KYOTO'S 3D STUDIO" that realistically reproduces every corner of historical buildings

The demo exhibition of "KYOTO'S 3D STUDIO" allows you to collect and save 3D data of traditional buildings and cultural properties and enjoy it as AR content.
When you start the software and attach the latest MR device "HoloLens2", a realistic 3D image of the historic building set in front of you emerges. Just by pinching and moving the building with your fingertips, you can freely rotate the building, make it larger or smaller, and you can experience the realism as if you were actually looking at the real thing up close.
The "KYOTO'S 3D STUDIO" business was originally started with the idea of digitally archiving cultural properties damaged by disasters as a precautionary measure and passing them on to the future. By combining with 5G, it becomes possible to intuitively operate high-definition AR images. Since it is possible to magnify and observe the details of cultural properties without actually going to the site, it is expected to provide new tourism content and utilize it for history education at educational sites.

⑥ "Dense avoidance signage" calling for social distance

As a countermeasure against the new coronavirus, it is called for avoidance of mixing and thorough social distance in commercial facilities and offices. This "dense avoidance signage" is useful there.

A camera and a sensor are attached at the top of the screen to detect the number of people in 4 meters square. If there are a large number of people, or if they are close to each other and close together, messages such as "Please consider social distance" and "Please keep a distance" will be announced.

In addition, this demo measures the gender, estimated age, and where you are looking at the person standing in front of the screen. By measuring the effectiveness of advertisements and analyzing visitor data, it can be expected to be used for layout design of stores and offices.

⑦ Leave the venue information to us! Virtual robot "Dena Portal"

Communication device "Dena Portal" developed by Denali Pam, a startup engaged in business utilizing AI, robotics, IoT, etc. A life-sized character that moves with expressiveness can be displayed on the digital sirage, and product and event announcements, company introductions, etc. can be realistically conveyed with the character's words and movements.

The displayed contents can be easily switched with the smartphone application. A mobile robot is installed at the bottom of the screen, and it can be moved remotely using a controller. The appearance is as if the characters are moving and talking to each other, and there is no doubt that they will attract the eyes of visitors at events and exhibition halls. It is also possible to deliver content tailored to the person in front of you.

With 5G, which enables ultra-high-speed data communication, higher-definition and real-time delivery can be realized. The sight of virtual robots guiding instead of people at the event venue may be seen as a matter of course.

⑧ AI visual inspection replaces human "eyes" and checks product quality

"Visual inspection" to check if there are any scratches or chips on the product in the manufacturing process. Until now, it was generally done visually. "AI visual inspection" replaces the process of finding minute scratches, which can be called craftsmanship, with AI image recognition.

The feature of "AI visual inspection" is that AI processing is performed on the cloud. A fixed camera takes a picture with multiple flashes and uploads it to the cloud. AI recognizes images on the cloud, and the display shows "OK" or "NG".
Since AI processing is performed in the cloud, all that is required is a "fixed camera," "PC," and "communication module." The CPU of the PC is said to be sufficient at the same level as the Raspberry Pi.

The problem was that it took a long time to make a judgment from shooting, but that was solved by using low-latency 5G communication. If it is introduced at the manufacturing site in the future, it will be useful for solving labor shortages and improving productivity.

⑨ "HUMANOID DJ" where AI excites the venue with music

It is the DJ's job to read the atmosphere of the audience at the venue and compose the most exciting production. "HUMANOID DJ" produced by Avex Entertainment and Naked is a product that tries to reproduce such DJ work with AI.

The image of the audience's face is recognized based on the image of the 4K camera, and the facial expression is read from the angle of the mouth and the size of the eyes. In addition, the situation of the venue will be comprehensively judged including the results of motion capture and voice analysis, and the optimum song selection and production will be performed to excite.

The transmission capacity of 4K video is enormous, and there was a problem that delays would occur in communication at event venues, but with large-capacity, low-delay 5G communication, AI analysis results can be reflected in real-time production.

⑩ "Matterport" that anyone can easily model the real space in 3D

When you do something in real space, you need to know exactly where it is. For example, if you are a company exhibiting at an exhibition, a preview of the venue is essential. "Matterport" is a virtual response to the need to "understand the space."

When you take a picture of the space about every 3 meters with a 360 degree camera, a 3D model is automatically created on the software. Anyone can easily edit the created 3D model on a smartphone or tablet device.

If it is an exhibition, the organizer can send 3D modeling to the exhibiting company to save the trouble of going to the venue preview. In addition, since text and links can be embedded in the 3D model, it is possible to use the 3D model as it is as a remote exhibition hall.

⑪ Personal robot "Temi" that is expected to play an active role in the business scene

If I could send my alter ego to a distant place ──. The personal robot "Temi" developed by temi USA inc. Has realized a dream that everyone has once imagined.

Users can check the images captured by the "Temi" camera in real time through the online conferencing tool Zoom, and have a remote dialogue. "Temi" can recognize the back of a person and automatically follow it, and can also autonomously drive to a point specified from a distance while avoiding obstacles.

In the business scene, you can do tasks that you had to go to the site, such as factory inspections and exhibition hall guidance, through "Temi". Demand is expected to increase in situations where movement and gatherings are restricted due to the Korona-ka.
